Open and close the gantry front cover

Open the gantry's front cover to reach the mechanism behind it — couch to the DOWN limit, four covers/rings off, the cover's own screws out, then swing the dome open and hook both support pipes in place — and close it again by running the same sequence in reverse.

Safety

NOTICE

Hazard: Front cover, left in the open position, contacting the ceiling or the patient couch if the gantry is tilted while the cover is open

Avoidance: Be extremely careful not to allow the front cover to come into contact with the ceiling or the patient couch when the gantry is tilted with the front cover open; check clearance against Figure 6.3-2 before commanding a tilt while the cover is still open
