XC Maintenance Program: outline, connection and menu

Set up the XC maintenance program — the PC-based tool used to confirm XC status/error information or to control the XC independently — by gathering the required hardware, wiring it into either the gantry stationary section (for logs) or directly into the XC PWB (for full control), starting the communication program, and unlocking the maintenance program's locked test switch through its Menu.

Applies to
Aquilion 16 (TSX-101A) — X-ray & HV volume 2D201-064, section 8.4 "XC Maintenance Program," subsections 8.4.1 Outline through 8.4.3 Menu (source, p.97).
Personnel
Basic to Intermediate — assemble a PC with an RS-232C port, the TME-version maintenance program, and the BSX77-1467 cable; correctly choose and wire ONE of two physical connections (GCIF2 at 0J for the gantry-stationary-section error log, or CNN711 on the XC PWB for direct control, which also requires moving JP1 from 1-2 to 2-3 and back); and use the program's 'Setting (S)' menu item to make a locked test switch effective. No calibration or component-level fault isolation is asked for within this section itself. (Skill assessment derived from procedure content — not an OEM-stated skill level.)

Safety

CAUTION

Hazard: Power stays ON to the gantry rotation section for the entire time the maintenance cable is connected directly to the XC PWB (CNN711)

Consequence: The cable, or a person, could be caught in the energized rotation section (source's own wording: "avoid anyone or the cable being caught in the rotation section")

Avoidance: Be extremely careful to keep the cable and anyone nearby clear of the rotation section for the whole time the maintenance cable is connected to the XC PWB; be sure to return JP1 from 2-3 back to 1-2 after completing the work
