Troubleshoot control-system data communication errors
Work the Aquilion 16's control-system data-communication fault path end to end — from the console message "A data transmission section error occurred," through the verify-error-occurrence test and four detailed-investigation trees, to the OPCONTA-test and GCIFA-test connector loopbacks that pin the fault on a specific PWB or cable (source §5.1-5.2, p.63-68).
Applies to
Aquilion 16 (TSX-101A) — Data Transfer (MUDAT) section, **control-system data communication path only** (§5.2). The sibling error type, DAS data communication errors, is a separate troubleshooting path (§5.3, see Related) and is not covered by this atom.
Personnel
1 technician · Intermediate — DIP-switch/rotary-switch reconfiguration on two PWBs at once (OPCONTA DSW3/DSW4, GCIFA SW6/SW8), reading LED pass/fail indications on the OPCONTA and GCIFA PWBs, running ~20-rotation test-rotor cycles in KGTSM local mode, visual cable/connector inspection around PRTM/PPBM/SPD0, and connector-level loopback testing (CN906/CN907, CN606/CN617) with a MUDAT coaxial cable — escalating to a cable-connection fix or to RPDM/SOT/ROT/OPCONTA/GCIFA PWB replacement depending on which of the four detailed-investigation trees the fault falls into (skill assessment derived from procedure content — not an OEM-stated skill level).
