Manual check and console test for locating MUDAT faults
When the abnormal-image diagnostic tree traces a MUDAT fault to the optical transmitting/receiving section, these two source-defined checks — a manual test rotation watched on the GCIFA PWB's own red LED, and a DCA console test run against the known-good per-segment output — pin the fault down to a specific SPDA/ROT pair, or split it between the gantry side and the console side.
Applies to
Aquilion 16 (TSX-101A) — Data Transfer (MUDAT) section, source volume 2D201-059E*D, §5.3.1(2)-(3) (p.74-75). Both 16-slice and 8-slice configurations apply — source's own step 4 of the console test branches by slice count ("C16GCIF" for 16-slice systems, "C8GCIF" for 8-slice systems), and step 6 branches which of the sixteen test-pattern segments are used (1-16 vs. 5-12).
Personnel
1 technician · Intermediate — run a KGTSM local-mode test rotation while watching the GCIFA PWB's own red fault LED to localize a faulty SPDA/ROT pair, then switch to the DCA's "Acq. Detail" data-check tool (Extra Data check OFF, C16GCIF/C8GCIF selection) to separate a gantry-side data-transfer fault from a console-side one; reliably returning GCIFA SW1-2 and SW1-4 to OFF afterward is mandatory, or normal image acquisition is not possible (skill assessment derived from procedure content — not an OEM-stated skill level).
