X-ray tube/heat-exchanger leakage, rotor resistance and cooling-fan checks — 3.1-3.9

Work through nine periodic checks on the Aquilion 16's X-ray system — tube, heat exchanger, rubber hose, rotor, receptacle unit, and cooling fans — items **3.1** through **3.9** of the X-ray System periodic-maintenance table, with NFB120 turned OFF before you start any of them.

Applies to
Aquilion 16 (TSX-101A) — periodic maintenance schedule, X-ray System section (source 2Y201-061, subsection 5.3), items 3.1 through 3.9 of that section's table. Items 3.10 onward continue this same table in sibling atoms (see Related).
Personnel
1 technician · Basic to Intermediate across items 3.1-3.9. Items 3.1-3.3, 3.5, 3.7, and 3.9 are visual/touch/mechanical checks — oil or liquid leakage by eye, the cable-retaining cap and its screws checked for looseness, an oil hose checked by touch, and any screw that can be turned by hand retightened with a screwdriver. Item 3.4 requires measuring stator-coil resistance between three terminals of X-ray TB5 in the cold state against a stated ohms tolerance; source names no meter for this reading. Item 3.6 requires observing fan operation and cleaning the heat-exchanger filter with the gantry 200 V power supply and the X-ray high-voltage generator energized. Item 3.8 requires timing the rotor's coast-down after power-off during low-speed operation and listening for abnormal noise. None of items 3.1-3.9 calls for a KGTSM/PC service-cable session, disassembly of the X-ray tube or SRU, or a torque-wrench check — those appear later in this same table, at items 3.18-3.19. Safety

DANGER

Hazard: Leaving NFB120 (power to the rotation servo motor) ON while performing the checks in this X-ray System periodic-maintenance section

Consequence: The rotation section may rotate suddenly, resulting in injury or electric shock

Avoidance: Before starting operation on any item in this section, be sure to turn OFF NFB120. (Printed once, at the head of source subsection 5.3, X-ray System, ahead of item 3.1 — it governs the whole X-ray System table, of which items 3.1-3.9 are this atom's scope.)
