Basic disassembly and carrying-out of the system

Hazard: Contact with spilled blood or contrast medium while disassembling and carrying out the system.

Consequence: Spilled blood or contrast medium may be a source of infection.

Avoidance: Wear hospital gloves and perform appropriate disinfection before starting work. In addition, perform thorough cleaning after the CT system has been carried out.

Hazard: Performing system operations such as gantry rotation, gantry tilting, and couch vertical movement (to reach the carrying-out status) without first checking the surrounding area.

Consequence: Failure to check the surrounding area first may result in your becoming caught.

Avoidance: Before performing system operations such as gantry rotation, gantry tilting, and couch vertical movement, be sure to check the surrounding area to ensure safety.

Hazard: Disconnecting the power cables from the power distribution board without first confirming, with a tester, that no power is supplied.

Consequence: Failure to do so may result in an electric shock.

Avoidance: Before disconnecting the power cables, be sure to turn OFF the breaker at the power distribution board. In addition, use a tester to confirm that power is not supplied.

Hazard: Transporting the gantry without the tilting and rotation lock mechanisms securely engaged.

Consequence: The system may fall due to unexpected gantry tilting or rotation, resulting in personal injury.

Avoidance: Before transporting the gantry, be sure to securely engage the tilting and rotation lock mechanisms.

Hazard: Carrying out the gantry and patient couch without reviewing the installation manual's bringing-in precautions beforehand, without pre-operation checks of the tools/instruments used (wire cables, jigs, jacks, etc.), or along a carrying-out route without sufficient clearance.

Consequence: The use of inappropriate tools or instruments may allow the system to fall, resulting in personal injury. A worker may become caught between the system and a wall, etc., during carrying-out, or have hands or fingers caught and injured.

Avoidance: Carefully review in advance the precautions described in the sections related to bringing-in in the installation manual and observe them when carrying out the system. Make arrangements with a transportation agency for transport of the gantry and patient couch. Be sure to perform pre-operation checks of the tools and instruments (wire cables, jigs, jacks, etc.) to be used for carrying-out. Ensure that the carrying-out route has sufficient clearance, and do not place your hands, fingers, etc. where they may become caught and injured.
