Replace a DAS PWB (Converter-16 / Control-16)

Remove and remount a Converter-16 or Control-16 PWB by de-energizing the DAS, opening the gantry to reach the DAS chassis, swapping the board on an antistatic mat without touching its pattern surface, and reversing the same steps to close everything back up.

Applies to
Aquilion 16 (TSX-101A)
Personnel
1 technician · Intermediate — the job means de-energizing the DAS circuit protector, opening the gantry front cover and rotating the gantry by hand to reach the DAS chassis, removing the main-detector shielding cover and the DAS chassis front cover, then working inside the chassis on an antistatic mat with gloves and a wrist band to swap a Converter-16 or Control-16 PWB — including confirming, by an oblique-angle check, that the new board is seated firmly, and never touching the board's parts or pattern surface with bare hands or a tool. No torque values or calibration step are stated within this section itself. (Skill assessment derived from procedure content — not an OEM-stated skill level.)

Safety

NOTICE

Hazard: Opening the gantry front cover and beginning DAS PWB service without first turning OFF the circuit protector switch

Consequence: The DAS remains ON (energized) — source does not state a further consequence beyond this

Avoidance: Be sure to turn OFF the circuit protector switch before working on the DAS PWB (source labels this a CAUTION at the head of the procedure; FSELIB classifies it NOTICE per the platform's Z535 mapping, since the only stated consequence is the equipment staying energized, not personal injury)

NOTICE

Hazard: Touching the parts of the DAS PWB, or its pattern surface, with your hands or any other object while swapping it

Consequence: If soiled with oil, water, etc., the SD (signal/image noise) may be made worse

Avoidance: Be careful not to touch the parts of the DAS PWB or the pattern surface with your hands or other objects (source labels this a CAUTION; FSELIB classifies it NOTICE, since the only stated consequence is degraded image data, not personal injury)
