Adjust the vertical (lowering) motion speed

This procedure adjusts how fast the Aquilion 16 patient couch lowers, by matching the openings of the two solenoid throttle valves — L21 and L24 — that control descent speed.

Safety

CAUTION

Hazard: Being caught between the arm or upper frame while adjusting the lowering speed, or while working on parts inside the lifter arms.

Consequence: Risk of being crushed by the arm or upper frame.

Avoidance: Be careful not to be crushed by the arm or upper frame when adjusting the lowering speed or working on the parts inside the lifter arms.

NOTICE

Hazard: Leaving the adjustment knob detached from the solenoid valve while the valve is open.

Consequence: Oil leaks from the knob hole.

Avoidance: Never leave the knob detached from the valve. After adjusting the speed, be sure to tighten the knob's locking nut (turn the nut clockwise to tighten).
