Power-on sequence and AC/DC voltage checks
Bring the Aquilion 16 up on power for the first time — console, then gantry rotation section, then gantry stationary section and patient couch — and confirm every AC and DC supply rail in the gantry, console, and DAS reads within its standard range before moving on to the power-supply mode and timer checks that follow.
Tools & parts
| Item | Part number | Qty |
|---|---|---|
| Digital voltmeter | n/a in source | |
| Oscilloscope with differential or isolation probe | n/a in source | |
| Voltage-adjustment VR (control on the power unit) | n/a in source |
Safety
Hazard: removing the covers of the console monitor or the X-ray high-voltage generator in the gantry, exposing the high-voltage sections inside
Consequence: accidental contact may occur, causing electric shock and possibly death
Avoidance: do not remove the covers of the console monitor or the X-ray high-voltage generator in the gantry
Hazard: connecting a measuring instrument (e.g. an oscilloscope) to a circuit of the floating section — such as the DRV PWB or the inverter PWB — without an isolation-rated probe, or leaving the probe cable dangling once connected
Consequence: may cause shock or short-circuit with the exposed GND section of the connector; failure to observe these precautions may also result in damage to the system
Avoidance: use a differential probe or isolation probe; do not leave the probe cable dangling when the probe is connected to the measuring point; note that when several measuring points are monitored simultaneously with one oscilloscope, the ground levels of the probes become common
Hazard: 200 V applied to the primary (upper) side of MC5 whenever NFB2 is ON, encountered at the time of a continuity check
Consequence: electric shock
Avoidance: be extremely careful regarding electric shock during the continuity check; the MC5 cover is provided for safety — do not remove it unless absolutely necessary
Hazard: gantry rotation remaining possible via SW120 even while the interlock mechanism is activated
Consequence: a person being caught in the rotation section
Avoidance: turn SW120 OFF before performing an operation with the front cover open or when touching the rotation section while power is supplied; turn SW120 ON only when it is absolutely necessary to rotate the gantry with the front cover open
Hazard: the rotation section rotating unexpectedly if an abnormality is present at the moment NFB2 is turned ON
Consequence: not separately stated in source beyond the instruction to pay attention to the gantry
Avoidance: pay attention to the gantry when turning ON NFB2, since the rotation section may rotate if there is an abnormality
