Reset the overcurrent relay (horizontal and vertical motors)

The Aquilion 16 patient couch protects both its horizontal (longitudinal/slide) motor and its vertical (lift/hydraulic pump) motor with an overcurrent relay that trips to stop the motor from smoking or burning — this atom covers how to reset each one, and what you must check first.

Applies to
Aquilion 16 (TSX-101A) — patient couch CBTB-016A / CBTB-016B, resetting the overcurrent relay for the horizontal (longitudinal) movement motor and for the vertical (lift) movement motor, source volume 2D201-062
Personnel
1 technician · Basic-to-intermediate — the reset itself is a lever/switch operation, but source requires the engineer to first judge whether the relay tripped because of a shorted circuit or a locked/jammed drive unit (foreign object caught) before resetting it; no meter reading or component replacement is described for this section (skill assessment derived from procedure content — not an OEM-stated skill level)

Safety

CAUTION

Hazard: Resetting either the horizontal- or vertical-movement-motor overcurrent relay without first checking whether the circuit is shorted or the drive unit is locked (a foreign substance caught in it, etc.).

Consequence: The overcurrent relay exists specifically to stop the motor from smoking and burning when an overcurrent flows; resetting it without finding and correcting the cause of the overcurrent is dangerous, because the same fault can trip the relay again and let the motor smoke or burn.

Avoidance: Before resetting either overcurrent relay, check whether the circuit is shorted or the drive unit is locked (foreign object caught) and correct the cause. Do not reset the relay without determining and correcting the cause of the overcurrent.
