Software work after replacing a RAID (RDD) disk
After a technician has physically swapped one disk in the Aquilion 16's five-disk RDD (RAID) array, take the scan system down, run RDD Setup's parity rebuild, confirm it completed, then bring the system back up with a full power cycle.
Applies to
Aquilion 16 (TSX-101A) — system software volume 2D260-074E*B, source p.174-176 (Chapter 10, "SOFTWARE-RELATED WORK REQUIRED AS A RESULT OF REPAIR WORK," Section 10.1, "Work After the Replacement of a Raid Disk"). Chapter-relative page footers "10-1"/"10-2"/"10-3" place this whole section across exactly source p.174/175/176 respectively. Source names no scan-vs-Sub console distinction for this section (unlike some of this volume's other chapters, e.g. toshiba-ct-aquilion16-software-system-setup) — it addresses the scan system console specifically, where the RDD (the five-disk RAID array used for raw-data storage) lives. Covers the software-side work only, run after a single RDD disk has already been physically swapped; it does not cover the physical disk-carrier installation itself (see Related, toshiba-ct-aquilion16-install-couch-console-rdd) nor the RDD Setup screen's separate install-time configuration (see Related, toshiba-ct-aquilion16-software-install-initialize-system).
Personnel
Intermediate — console/winterm command-line work (`su`, `chkconfig`) combined with a GUI configuration tool (System Setup > RDD Setup); no board-level hardware disassembly is described in this section — the physical RDD disk swap is a separate, already-completed prerequisite (skill assessment derived from procedure content — not an OEM-stated skill level).
