Data transfer unit operation and cleaning check (GCIFA PWB) — 5.1/5.2

Run the Aquilion 16's periodic Data Transfer Unit check on the GCIFA PWB — confirm its bank of red error LEDs stays off through a supervised local test rotation, then clean the panel's LEDs and photodiode hood — to close out periodic-inspection items 5.1 and 5.2.

Applies to
Aquilion 16 (TSX-101A) — periodic inspection items 5.1 and 5.2, "5. Data Transfer Unit" (source subsection 5.5) of the periodic-inspection table, source volume 2Y201-061 (Check and Maintenance Procedures). This two-item block sits between the Data Acquisition System block (items 4.1-4.6, source subsection 5.4) and the Console block (items 6.1-6.11, source subsection 5.6) in the same master schedule (see Related). The table's own column headers show four checking-period buckets, 3M / 6M / 1Y / 2Y, but the specific interval mark for items 5.1/5.2 was not preserved by the text extraction of the table — the same limitation already flagged on several neighboring items in this corpus (e.g. items 4.1-4.6, 6.1-6.11). Confirm the checked period against the printed table in source 2Y201-061E*E p.119-120 before scheduling. Item 5.2's own text directs its operation check to "subsection 5.6 of the service manual 2D201-059E" — a different source document (the GCIFA/data-transfer service volume), outside this section's own page range; see Related and the cross-volume note in Steps below.
Personnel
1 technician · Intermediate — operate the GCIFA PWB's local data-acquisition DIP switch (SW1-2) and its error-status-clear pushbutton (SW4), run a supervised local test rotation from the test rotor / KGTSM maintenance panel (an initial single-rotation baseline, then at least 2 more rotations for the check itself), read a wide, non-contiguous bank of red LEDs (LED 6, 8, 9, 14 to 39, 52, 68 to 77, and 88 to 99) to confirm none are lit, and clean the panel's LEDs and photodiode hood. No board-level rework, disassembly, or calibration is called out in source for either item. (Skill assessment derived from procedure content — not an OEM-stated skill level.)

Safety

NOTICE

Hazard: Leaving SW1-2 on the GCIFA PWB set to ON, or otherwise failing to return it to OFF, after completing the 5.1 operation check.

Consequence: Normal scan images cannot be obtained — an abnormal image results, or the console displays the message "Acquired data is abnormal."

Avoidance: After completing the check, always return SW1-2 on the GCIFA PWB to OFF before returning the system to clinical scanning.
