Replace the main detector array

Replace the main detector array by locking the gantry rotation, disconnecting seven cable groups, unbolting and lifting the old 76 kg detector/DAS assembly out on a replacement jig, transferring the DAS PWB and positioning pins onto the new detector, bolting the new assembly in at the specified torque, and running the full post-swap functional checks — temperature stabilization, all-channel DCA output, NRA imaging, tube alignment, and calibration.

Applies to
Aquilion 16 (TSX-101A) — Data acquisition section (DAS)/detector, source volume 2D201-065, §6.2.2 ("Replacement of the Main Detector"), Part Replacement chapter — between replacing the DAS PWB alone (§6.2.1, p.87) and acquiring calibration data (§6.2.3, p.96) / replacing the REF detector (§6.2.4, p.97).
Personnel
2 technicians · Advanced — the job disconnects and reconnects seven cable groups (DAS I/O ×3, DAS power ×4, DAS fan power, a Control-16-to-DAS-power-supply control cable, REF cable, thermal sensor cable, and heater power supply cable), transfers the DAS PWB and the positioning knock pins from the removed detector housing to the new one under antistatic precautions, manipulates a 76 kg assembly with a replacement jig while a second worker manages positioning and cable clearance, tightens M12 mounting bolts to a specified torque (34.32 N·m / 350 kgf·cm), and closes with a multi-stage functional verification (detector temperature stabilization, all-896-channel DCA output check, NRA image acquisition, X-ray tube alignment check, and calibration data acquisition) before the system can return to clinical use. Safety

CAUTION

Hazard: The main detector's temperature is not maintained at a certain level after the swap

Consequence: Artifacts may occur

Avoidance: Confirm the temperature controller display rises gradually and stabilizes between 36.0 °C and 38.0 °C (OT1 red lamp blinking) during the post-replacement checks before considering the detector ready — source gives no further avoidance instruction beyond this check

CAUTION

Hazard: Starting calibration data acquisition before the detector has had time to reach a stable operating temperature

Consequence: Not explicitly named in source; source states 2 to 3 hours are required for detector-temperature stabilization, which this wait period exists to satisfy

Avoidance: Wait at least 3 hours after system power-on before starting calibration data acquisition (2-3 hours are required for detector temperature stabilization; this may differ depending on room temperature)
