Replace the X-ray tube (side and bottom jig methods)
Replace the X-ray tube by locking the gantry rotation, disconnecting the high-voltage cable and tube cabling, unbolting the tube mounting plate, and carting the old tube out (and the new one in) on one of two dedicated jigs — one for pulling the tube out the side of the gantry, one for lowering it out the bottom.

Safety
Hazard: Touching the tip of the high-voltage cable
Consequence: Residual charge may cause an electric shock
Avoidance: Do not touch the tip of the high-voltage cable
Hazard: Removing a heavy component from the rotation section without first engaging the mechanical brake (rotation lock pin)
Consequence: The gantry rotation section may rotate due to the weight imbalance created by the part's removal, possibly resulting in personal injury
Avoidance: Engage the mechanical brake (rotation lock pin) before removing a heavy component from the rotation section
Hazard: Disconnecting the high-voltage cable without fully discharging its residual charge (both jig methods, at the return/starter-cable disconnection step)
Consequence: Electric shock during servicing work
Avoidance: Turn power OFF and wait five minutes or more; once the high-voltage cable is disconnected, simultaneously ground two of the three pins at the top of the bushing in all three combinations, repeating all combinations twice or more; do not touch the top of the bushing; place a cap or vinyl cover over the tip of the bushing to protect it
Hazard: Removing the X-ray tube without care while unbolting the tube mounting plate (both jig methods) — the tube may move longitudinally during the work
Consequence: (not detailed further in source for this item)
Avoidance: Be careful, because the tube may move longitudinally during this work; insert the rotation lock pin into the rotation lock pin retaining plate securely
Hazard: Rotating the X-ray tube on the bottom-removal jig's base before confirming it is firmly seated
Consequence: (not stated in source)
Avoidance: Before rotating the X-ray tube, be sure to confirm that it is firmly placed on the base
