Replace the tilt gas spring
Replace the gantry's tilt gas spring by tilting to a reference angle, freeing the spring's mounting bracket, swapping the fully-extended spring, and re-verifying full tilt travel.
Applies to
Aquilion 16 (TSX-101A)
Personnel
1 technician · Intermediate — sequential mechanical work: removing two gantry covers, tilting the gantry to a specific reference angle, loosening a three-bolt mounting bracket and a push/pull bolt, extracting a fully-extended gas spring together with its bracket, fitting the replacement, and — only if the tilt encoder gear had to be disengaged to reach the -31° position — re-adjusting the encoder afterward. No torque values, part numbers, or test equipment are called out in this section (skill assessment derived from procedure content — not an OEM-stated skill level).
