On DryStar 5500 and DryStar 5503 CT systems, status code HC10823 indicates: Sorter exit sensor S27 not connected or malfunctioning. The code originates in the Output Sorter Module — Position Sensors section of the Output Sorter Module. Severity level alarm (Alarm).

Reported action: Check the connections to S27, then connector P30 on the MEC board, then the wiring between S27 and MEC/P30 with a multimeter, fixing whatever is not OK. If the wiring is good, power off the printer and replace S27; if the fault stays, the MEC board itself has to be replaced..
