Replace the REF detector
The REF (reference) detector sits behind the leakage beam shielding plate. On systems with the small-focus X-ray tube (CXB-400C), reaching it means first clearing the optical system shielding cover, the optical system (slit/wedge), and the X-ray tube out of the way. The REF detector itself is a high-precision part — handle it with care throughout.

Safety
Hazard: Touching the optical-system shield-cover drive motor while removing the front cover
Consequence: Burn injury — the motor is hot
Avoidance: Do not touch this motor
