Set the DAS timer (auto pre-heat of the data acquisition section)

Configure the servo-unit DAS timer so the detector/DAS heater is powered before the console is switched on. The data acquisition section needs more than 2.5 hours of heater power to reach a stable temperature; a stable detector avoids ring and center ("navel") artifacts. With the timer set, the DAS is warm and the system is scan-ready the moment the console power switch is turned ON.

Applies to
Activion16 (TSX-031A) gantry with the optional DAS timer (TIMER 111) fitted in the servo unit. Requires system power-supply mode (short connector S-CNN on CNN117).

Safety

WARNING

Hazard: Gantry rotation section energized with console power OFF

Consequence: electric shock / unexpected start of internal units

Avoidance: Treat the rotation section as live whenever the DAS timer is enabled; do not assume the console power switch de-energizes it

CAUTION

Hazard: DAS heater temperature not stabilized (timer OFF or too little pre-heat)

Consequence: ring artifact or 'navel' (center) artifact in images

Avoidance: Allow >2.5 h of heater power to the data acquisition section before scanning; keep the timer in AUTO/ON for normal use

NOTICE

Hazard: Setting indicator placed within ±15 min of current-time position

Consequence: indicator cannot seat / program will not run as intended

Avoidance: Nudge the dial with the center knob before inserting the indicator
