Check for dust stripes and perform TPH cleaning procedure

Whenever dust stripes show up on a printed film — or the Chapter 3.3 Troubleshooting procedure sends you here — work the DryStar 5300's Figure 7 decision flow: reprint, wet-clean the thermal head (TH) with isopropyl alcohol, and only escalate to dry cleaning with an ink eraser (and, if that still doesn't clear it, a Resistor Check or TH profile calibration) when the stripes persist.

Drystar 5300, Type 5365/100 (source Chapter 3.6, Repair and Service: Adjustments and calibrations, Edition 1, Revision 7, 2006-01-26) — §3.2 "Check for dust stripes / TPH Cleaning Procedure," run whenever dust stripes seem to be present or as directed by the Chapter 3.3 Troubleshooting procedure.

Personnel

1 technician · Service-level technician — prints STI2 (and, on the escalated branch, STI2 plus medical_image) test images from the service menu, visually judges vertical-stripe patterns against the Figure 7 decision flow, performs wet cleaning with isopropyl alcohol, and — if that doesn't clear the stripes — dismounts the thermal head to dry-clean it with an ink eraser (Figure 8) before remounting and reprinting. On software builds newer than 2.X_C1, may also run a Resistor Check and a TH profile calibration from the service menu. Requires TH dismount/mount but stops short of a full TPH replacement unless the flowchart's "Replace TH" branch is reached (derived — source does not assign a formal skill-level label to this section).
