ACCUMULATED DOSE EXCEEDEDAccumulated Dose Exceeded — alarm blocks further exposure on the same patient

Philips CT error code, reported by the Generator (GEST) / Dose Management.

What ACCUMULATED DOSE EXCEEDED means

On DuraDiagnost F30 DR CT systems, status code ACCUMULATED DOSE EXCEEDED indicates: Accumulated Dose Exceeded — alarm blocks further exposure on the same patient. The code originates in the DAP / Dose Management section of the Generator (GEST) / Dose Management. Severity level alarm (Alarm).

Reported action: Check whether the DAP value was reset before exposing a new patient — if not, reset it using the reset button at the side of the display. If the DAP value was already reset and the alarm persists, release the exposure switch and stop the exam. To remove the alarm or change its threshold, go to GEST PC Tool -> View -> DAP and change the Accumulated Dose value, per the OEM table..

From the Generator Fault Messages table (Symptoms / Root Causes / Solutions) in the Philips DuraDiagnost F30 DR Technical Manual (DMR293226 REV 04). An alarm raised to prevent further exposure on the same patient; the OEM table lists three possible root causes — the DAP value was not reset, too much radiation has already been applied to the same patient, or the alarm threshold is not suitable.
