Reported action: Check the connections to the drum encoder and reconnect or replace the connector if faulty, then check connector XS8, then connector P35 on the MEC board, and verify the wiring from the encoder to XS8 and from XS8 to MEC/P35 with a multimeter. If wiring is good, the encoder (part S32) or drum motor M1 may need replacing. Also check whether the drum completed a full turn within the allotted time — inspect the two drum drive belts (toothed and flat) for correct routing on the pulleys and remount or replace as needed. If none of that clears it, the drum motor/encoder function on the MEC board has failed and the MEC board must be replaced..
