Troubleshoot the Activion16 X-ray generator main circuit (9 fault flowcharts)

Use this when the console/gantry reports one of nine main-circuit fault conditions: AC fault, uncommanded exposure, filament error, anode/cathode overvoltage, cable interlock, HV over-temperature, anode/cathode arc, anode/cathode overcurrent, or abnormal high voltage. Each condition has its own flowchart in source (pp.97–106); this atom carries all nine, in order, so you can jump straight to the o

Applies to
Activion16 (TSX-031A) — X-ray Generator/HV main circuit (AC/CONTROL + INV/HV sections). No model- or revision-specific restriction is stated in source for these nine flowcharts.

Safety

DANGER

Hazard: Working these flowcharts requires opening gantry covers to reach the AC/CONTROL and INV/HV chassis (the X-ray high-voltage generator is mounted in the gantry rotation section)

Consequence: electric shock or injury from unexpected system operation, or from being caught in the rotation section

Avoidance: turn OFF system power at the distribution board and wait 5 minutes or more before starting (cross-referenced from §1.9.3 — not restated as new text in §1.11.2 itself)

DANGER

Hazard: Several branches require monitoring test points while the system is powered and, in places, while an exposure is in progress (e.g. TP13, TP7, TP6/TP4, TP2, preheats), which means servicing with the system turned ON

Consequence: electric shock or injury from unexpected operation of sections assumed unpowered

Avoidance: supply power only to the parts that require it; turn OFF the cover switch and CP320 (rotation-servo power) when they are not needed (cross-referenced from §1.9.3)

DANGER

Hazard: Residual charge on the system's primary-side capacitor (approx. 300 VDC, 36000 µF) before replacing the AC chassis or INV/HV chassis

Consequence: electric shock from contact with the main circuit, including the floating section, while charge remains

Avoidance: wait at least 3 minutes after turning OFF system power before removing the cover; confirm no charge remains between P2 and N2 of the inverter section before touching the main circuit (cross-referenced from §1.9.8)
