Couch — routing of the internal cables at the linkage unit (work procedure)

The source (§2.6.6, labelled "<Work procedure>") is a step-by-step routing procedure — follow steps (1) through (8) below to route the couch's internal cable bundle back exactly the way Toshiba specifies, from the linkage unit rising section up to the top of the linkage unit, next to the hydraulic (vertical drive) cylinder. In practice you also return to this page as a reference whenever the

Applies to
Activion16 (TSX-031A) patient couch. No couch-variant or configuration-specific effectivity marker is given in the source section — applies to all Activion16 couch linkage-unit internal cable routing.

Tools & parts

ItemPart numberQty
Clamp, small — used at callout <1> (linkage unit rising section); no part number given in sourcen/a in source
Clamp, medium — used at callouts <3>, <7>, <11>AWK002-08
Clamp, large — used at callouts <4>, <8>, <10>AWK002-09
Clamp retaining bracket — paired with the large clamp (AWK002-09) at callout <8>, cable guide platen/a in source
Screw, M4, 8 mm long — mounts the clamps/retaining bracket at callouts <7> and <8>n/a in source
Cable ties — multiple, at the locations specified per callout (see Steps)n/a in source

Safety

NOTICE

Hazard: Twisting the bundled internal couch cables while performing steps (3)-(6) below, or mounting cable ties/clamps at locations other than the ones specified for the linkage unit

Consequence: (derived - not in source) A twisted or incorrectly clamped cable bundle can chafe, fatigue, or bind at the linkage unit as the couch cycles vertically, leading to intermittent signal/power faults or eventual cable failure

Avoidance: Perform steps (3) through (6) with care to avoid any twisting of the bundled cables; mount cable ties and clamps only at the locations specified for the linkage unit

NOTICE

Hazard: Fitting the medium clamp (AWK002-08) or the large clamp (AWK002-09) into the wrong one of the two available mounting holes

Consequence: (derived - not in source) The source specifies opposite hole choices for the two clamp sizes; using the wrong hole leaves the clamp's effective internal diameter mismatched to the cable bundle it is meant to secure

Avoidance: When the medium clamp (AWK002-08) is used, mount it in the hole that gives the clamp the LARGE internal diameter. When the large clamp (AWK002-09) is used, mount it in the hole that gives it the SMALL internal diameter
