Check the MUDAT transmission-LED luminescence (ROT and SOT sides)
The light from the MUDAT's communication LEDs is infrared — invisible to the eye. To check whether a given LED is actually emitting, convert its infrared light to visible red light with an IR converter and look for the red glow. This page covers both halves of that check: the ROT side (rotation-section transmission LEDs) and the SOT side (stationary-section transmission LEDs).
Safety
Hazard: Hazardous voltage in the LCSR (slipring section) and brush section, behind the rear dome cover
Consequence: Electric shock
Avoidance: Do not remove the rear dome cover. If it is necessary to remove the rear dome cover, turn OFF the breaker before mounting/removing it. Do not turn ON the power of the gantry when the rear dome cover is removed.
Hazard: Inadvertent gantry rotation during servicing work while checking the ROT-side or SOT-side LEDs
Consequence: Source states this precaution exists "to ensure safety of the workers," implying injury risk to personnel near the rotation section
Avoidance: Use the cover switch, CP320, rotation mechanical stopper, etc., to prevent inadvertent gantry rotation during servicing work (printed identically in the ROT-side and the SOT-side WARNING). A separate SOT-side body instruction additionally cites CP320 and a mechanical rotation lock pin, etc. — rendered as its own step, not as a WARNING variant.
Hazard: Rotating the rotation section manually without releasing the brake first (ROT-side closeout)
Consequence: May result in system malfunction (source states an equipment-only consequence; printed under a CAUTION heading, re-leveled to NOTICE per Z535)
Avoidance: Always release the brake before rotating the rotation section manually
Hazard: Replacing or checking static-sensitive parts (PWBs, hard disks, etc.) without ESD protection (SOT-side closeout)
Consequence: Damage to static-sensitive components (source prints this under a CAUTION heading; re-leveled to NOTICE per Z535 because the only stated consequence is to the parts, not to personnel)
Avoidance: Wear an antistatic wristband when replacing or checking parts that can be damaged by static electricity
