Dust Particles on the Print Drum

Oval or round spots that repeat at a fixed spacing down the film are a signature fault, not a guess: measure the distance between them, and if it matches the print drum's diameter (110 mm), the cause is dust on the drum itself.

Applies to
DryStar 5300 (Type 5365/100)
Personnel
1 technician · Basic — visual pattern match (measure the spacing between repeated spots) against the STI1 test image, then a reprint-and-clean check on the print drum; no disassembly required for this entry itself.
