Defective Fiber Optic Cable Run # 712.
Symptom
Gating does not work and the message The PAC does not respond displayed during system boot or TPS reset. This problem was found while installing this new system. Ran Diagnostics --> Peripherals --> PAC Diagnostics --> PAC Power up Test and SPU-->PAC Loop back Test, both of which failed with error codes 2254702 & 2254703. Measured PAC power at rear of SSM module and found it to be okay. This problem was found while installing this new system. Error message
2254702 PAC DIAGNOSTIC TIMEOUT. The PAC did not return a result to the SPU for the last PAC diagnostic test in the allotted 8 second time. Try running PAC datapath tests or other PAC diagnostics. Extended Error: Verify that the PAC module has power. Run SPU-->STIF and SPU-->PAC loopback tests to see if the MGD chassis can talk to the PAC module. Check fiber optic connections between the STIF and the PAC. Possible cause(s): PAC
