Symptom
MRIQ Horizontal Black Bands On Axial T2 FSE Lumbar Studies in the R/L Direction. See long description. link to image library. OpenSpeed systems exhibit a subtle dark band that runs through the image on FSE scans. It's usually seen on the Axial T2 lumbar spines in the R/L direction and has occurred in up to 30% of these images at some sites. Some sites see it less often and a few sites have never seen it. Examples of these images may be seen at the Site data explorer under System ID 717709MR. Exam 3265 Series 5 Images 16 and 18 exhibit the artifact. Compare these to images 15, 17, 19 & 20 of the same series which do not show this banding effect. These images were transferred to InSite on June 12, 2002.
