Are the Medical Advances Large and Small Musculoskeletal Flex Array Coils, Vendor Part Numbers 543GE-64 & 544GE-64 Compatible with 1.5T Excite HD? See Long Description On a Signa LX 9.1 to 1.5T Excite HD upgrade, the salesman promised the customer that the Medical Advances 543GE-64 and 544GE-64 "Long Bone" Large & Small Musculoskeletal Flex Array coils were compatible with 1.5T Excite HD. We don't sell these coils. On 9.1 software, the customer was using "USCTLMID" as the coil names for these coils and they worked fine. They are trying to use the same coil name now that the system has been upgraded to Excite HD and it doesn't work, they get coil ID errors. I can see these coils listed on the old 9x/10x cross reference spreadsheet in Excite HD Service Methods and the same coil names listed for these coils for 10x (Excite I) are present in the 1.5T 12x Excite HD Coil Config files. But these coils are not listed on the new Coils Compatibilty Matrix, nor elsewhere in Service Methods, no doubt because GE doesn't sell them, and I can find no coil ID cable to order from GE for these coils. These coils plug into the upper port so they must be Coil ID compatible. (If the coil's cable/connector is Coil ID compatible it will state this on connector). The 11x ISERV (coil ID was introduced with 11x software) gives a coil ID cable for a Medical Advances coil but that's for a knee/foot coil that we sell. There is no mention of these coils. The Excite HD upgrade includes "M1085PE RF Coil ID Cable Kit" but none of these cables seem to be for these coils. Are these coils compatible with 1.5T Excite HD, or not? If so how can we make them work with this system?
