Top Coil Port Always Indicates a Coil Even When Not in Use.
Excite 11.0. shorted wire in data cable which runs from Multi-coil preamp assembly down to 8 channel switch
Symptom
Top Coil Port Always Indicates a Coil Even When Not in Use. System always recognizes a coil as being present in the top connector regardless of whether any coil was plugged in or not. Coil ID indicator would not switch to green (coil identified). Diags would show coil present, but toggle between correct ID and coil not identified. Could not scan multi-coil at all because system detected multiple coils connected at once. If cable between 8 channel switch and MC preamp assembly was disconnected at MC preamp assembly, there was no change in LED. If cable was disconnected at the 8 channel switch end, LED went out.
Error message
Coil ID LED always lit yellow.
