System only sees the Head Coil ID code, no matter what coil is connected. Coil ID Fails. See Long Description The customer was scanning with the head coil, then finished that patient and connected the CTL coil and started a new exam using the USCTLTOP coil. But the system wouldn't permit it, it posted a coil ID error that stated that it saw a coil code that I later found was the same one as the head coil, and it was expecting to see the coil ID code for the CTL coil. So somehow the Head coil status was retained by or "stuck" in the coilID hardware/software. The IH2 engineer arrived and verified the CTL was plugged in. She shut the system down and cycled complete system power and rebooted and that fixed the problem. It seems the SRI2 must have been at fault here. I suspect the SRI2 somehow retained the code from the previous coil and rebooting and/or just cycling the power obviously reset that state. I think the problem could've been fixed by just cycling SSM power (to reset the SRI2) and then TPS Reset but she hadn't tried that. The IH2 engineer will run SRI2 diagnostics soon.
