Symptom
Dielectric Effect may still be apparent when using the Dielectric Pads on 3T STIR sequences When imaging pelvis and/or abdomen on 3T with a STIR sequence, Dielectric Effect may still be apparent even when the Dielectric Pads are properly applied. Please see attached file for a visual representation of this issue. Dielectric pads were used in this exam. Dielectric Effect is seen as signal drop-off/shading on the top/head of the image.
