Component
2150415-2 Burst Disk 20 PSI 7/8” with Garlock Gaskets See long description Magnets, which utilize the thick (7/8”) burst disk (P/N 46-252838P4 or 2194545-4) with garlock gaskets on both seal surfaces exhibit leaks. Unless fully compressed with a high torque, the gasket on the magnet (high pressure) side of the disk leaks, resulting in unacceptable helium loss. Several systems exhibited leakage even after full torque application. Corrective action: A new burst disk, P/N 2350415-2 has been designed and tested as an upgrade for the Boil-Off Magnets in the field that have the original burst disc 46-252838P4 (P/N 2194545-4 which includes the garlock gaskets). The new burst disk (P/N 2348045-2) incorporates an o-ring groove in the seating surface of the magnet flange. When ordering the new disk, request the burst disk assembly P/N 2350415-2, which will include the o-ring (magnet side) and garlock gasket (vent side). This new burst disk may be used on all Boil-Off Magnets which require a 20psig burst disk . The 2350415-2 burst disk is a FRU for the original burst disk since upgrade is only required for leaking systems.
