May a 5215012-2 PHPS be substituted for a 5215012 PHPS when none are in stock. 5215012-2 PHPS may NOT be substituted for a 5215012 PHPS as a FRU replacement. 3T Excite HD 12.0.
Symptom
May a 5215012-2 PHPS be substituted for a 5215012 PHPS when none are in stock See Long Description The FE can't get a 5215012 PHPS as a FRU replacement for the 12x 3.0T Excite HD system he is servicing. This is because there are none in stock at this time and the promise is as long as a week for fulfillment. There is, however, a 5215012-2 available. The Test document 5215012TST (rev 2, see Attachment) states that the only difference between the two is the PAL power supply. FEMC states the 5215012-2 is for systems with Halogen patient alignment lights. But this system has laser patient alignment lights. May the FE compliantly use the 5215012-2 PHPS as a substitute for the 5215012 PHPS on this system? Here is an excerpt from the test specification document in the attachment. 5215012TST (rev 2) Patient Handling Power Supply Test Specification 1 SCOPE This document defines the functional test requirements for the Patient Handling Power supply (PHPS) 5215012 as well as the 5215012-2 version. The only difference between the 2 versions is the load capacity of the Patient Alignment Light (PAL) Power supply. All other functions are identical between the 2 versions. The test document in the attached file is 5215012TST (rev 2). This is not available online. To confirm this is the latest document, go to myWorkshop . The FEMC parts notes for 5215012-2 is shown below.
