Failed to validate the media error due to defective DVD drive.
Symptom
Unable to Read/Write CD/DVD Media See Long Description They are using the proper approved media. When this is attempted a message pops up which is not logged: " Failed to validate the media ", and an error is logged in /var/log/messages, as shown below. Aug 31 12:47:25 HDX kernel: cdrom: This disc doesn't have any tracks I recognize!
