Intermittent signal loss due to Body Array Coil.
Symptom
Intermittent loss of signal with 8 channel Body or CTL Array coils See Long Description Subject: MR SMILe: FMI 60686 and 60687, SIGNA 8CH CTL AND BODY ARRAY SYSTEM CONNECTORS Effectivity: All 1.5T Signa systems with 8 channel Body or CTL array coils (p/n 2377425-2 and 2377426-2, respectively). This FMI only applies to coils with serial numbers less than 750. All coils with serial numbers greater than 750 shipped with all current changes. Description: The original design of the system connector housings on these coils can cause intermittent loss of signal due to possible interference with the system side connector. The most common symptoms of this issue include customer complaints of intermittent image quality issues without driver faults when using these 8ch coils. A new connector has been designed to minimize these issues and improve the overall fit of the 8ch connector. SMILe 1/27/2005
