Does the OpenSpeed and OpenSpeed with Excite System Permit Table Elevation with Cradle at Lateral Offset Position.

Symptom

Does the OpenSpeed and OpenSpeed with Excite System Permit Table Elevation with Cradle at Lateral Offset Position? See Long Description One of the Zone Support Engineers, asked us whether the HFO4 system (OpenSpeed with Excite) permits the table to be raised or lowered with the cradle at a lateral position, whether offset left or right 1-120 mm. Is this possible? Does the HFO4/5 system allow the table to be lowered with the cradle positioned laterally? I checked the service and applications documents and found nothing preventing system elevation with the cradle positioned laterally at either direction. In the Swing Table Troubleshooting document at http://jptyoiis01.ap.health.ge.com:8000/mr/cdrom/2402212/root/data/Signa_EXCITE/content/168391.htm we see the required conditions for table elevation: Up Logic: Up motion are initiated by actuating the UP PEDAL Up motion will continue only as long as the UP PEDAL is actuated Up motion is inhibited if the UP PEDAL and DOWN PEDAL are actuated simultaneously. Up motion will only be allowed if the cradle is in the home position as indicated by the HOME SENSOR Up motion will cease when the UP LIMIT SENSOR is reached Down Logic Down motion is initiated by actuating the DOWN PEDAL Down motion will continue only as long as the DOWN PEDAL is actuated Down motion is inhibited if the DOWN PEDAL and UP PEDAL are actuated simultaneously. Down motion will only be allowed if the cradle is in the home position as indicated by the HOME SENSOR Down motion will cease when the DOWN LIMIT SENSOR is reached. There is nothing here about lateral position. From this I understand that the system permits table elevation, either up or down motion, with the cradle positioned laterally. Is this correct? The ZSE asked if this was really true as it is generally believed that the OpenSpeed and OpenSpeed with Excite systems have logic to prevent table elevation from taking place with the cradle at a lateral position. The ZSE indicated that at the site he was supporting, the table had a very large patient on it when the customer began lowering the table with the cradle at a lateral position, and that noises were heard coming from the table while it was being lowered. Does table elevation with the cradle positioned laterally pose any risks?
