This regulation applies to systems intended to be shipped through US territories (by any transportation mean) or by airplane (worldwide). This regulation applies to systems intended to be shipped through US territories (by any transportation mean) or by airplane (worldwide). The purpose of this service note is to comply with this regulation. 3 PROBLEM The PDU contains an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) equipment which contains a pair of lead-acid batteries, therefore it must be shipped in accordance with the DOT/IATA 49 CFR regulation. That's why the batteries shall be disconnected before shipping and reconnected during installation. In case of battery replacement, the old battery shall be secured before shipment through the GE parts return circuit. 4 SOLUTION The service manual has been modified by Addendum 5318139-1-1EN to comply with the 49 CFR regulation. The procedures included in this addendum replace the procedures having the same ID from the "Innova 2100-IQ, 3100/3100-IQ, 4100/4100-IQ Cardiovascular Imaging System Service Manual", direction 5160409-9-2EN.
