SOLUTION Volcano Co, the manufacturer of the s5i GE systems, developed countermeasures to relief strain on the PIM cable and the PIM connector for the s5iGE Rev2 systems. These parts are standard components of the s5iGE Rev2 shipments, also available as FRU. It is possible to order and install the strain relief parts also for the IB s5iGE Rev1 systems. PROCEDURE 1. Install FRU parts according to the Instructions shipped with the FRUs Note: 5179458-3 PATIENT INTERFACE MODULE S5IGE FRU also contains related improvements: the ‘ pigtail ‘ cable also helps to relief strain on the PIM connector. This FRU part is common for s5iGE Rev1 and Rev2 systems, this FRU will be shipped if the original IVUS Rev1 PIM will need replacement.
