On the windows based 2000 OrthoMRI systems, (Cscan, CscanNE, EscanXQ and EscanNE) there is a function on the Set Up page that allows the customer to position the patient before running the scout. ESAOTE, the manufacturer, designates this as RealTime imaging. Some customers use the term "Patient Positioning" scan and still other incorrectly term this as a scout but it is not. The system will acquire an image about every ten seconds. These images are not saved on the hard drive. They only appear in a small window that is located on the Set Up page that the customer can refer to as they are positioning the anatomy of interest. All three planes can be used as well as change the slice angle.
