Unable to install patch due to conflict with previous version of patch on the system, but this patch was removed so why does it still report a conflict.
Symptom
Unable to Install New Version of Patch FE is trying to install patch_11.0_M4_01 Rev. B. When he initially tried to install the patch a conflict was reported with the existing patch, Rev. A, so he removed it. But he still can't install the patch, even after rebooting the system. The system still reports a conflict with this patch even though he sees in the Service Browser that the patch is not there. It is also not shown in the s/w version status output from /export/home/signa/bin/getver. So why is there still a conflict reported?
