Symptom
May We Remove The Large File /proc/kcore See Long Description The system cannot be booted because the root partition on the hard drive is 100% full. The FE ran the "storelog" command to prune the error logs and remove core files, bit this didn't help. So now he's manually searching the root partition files and he thinks he's found another core file. But it's not in the usual location that core files are found in which is /usr/g/service/log. This file is in the /proc directory. See the listing for this file, shown below: cd /proc [Enter] ls -asl kcore 0 -r-------- 1 root root 939528192 Jul 10 13:28 kcore As you can see, this file is about 939 MBytes in size! Is this a core file? May we safely delete this file?
