AMX 700 Main Circuit Breaker Trips after Charging
Symptom
Definium AMX 700 main circuit breaker (1A3 CB1) may trip when "Charge Complete" is displayed if the unit is turned on when plugged into the AC wall outlet. See long description: Definium AMX 700 main circuit breaker (1A3 CB1) may trip when "Charge Complete" is displayed if the unit is turned on when plugged into the AC wall outlet. The Definium AMX 700 is based upon the AMX4+. The AMX4+ system protects itself by tripping CB1 if the unit is left in charge mode for an extended period of time after the ""Charge Complete"" state is reached. This protection circuitry results in CB1 being activated within 30 -180 seconds (depending on the battery life) when the key switch is turned with the unit still plugged into the AC wall outlet when the ""Charge Complete"" state is reached. Explanation for Customers: The battery charging and electrical power protection of the Definium AMX 700 is the same as the AMX 4+. If the unit is plugged into the AC wall outlet for an extended period after the “Charge Complete” message is displayed, the unit will shutdown by tripping the main circuit breaker to protect the internal electronics. This same protection scheme can cause the main circuit breaker to trip if the Definium AMX 700 is turned on while still plugged into the AC wall outlet after the “Charge Complete” message is displayed (there may be a delay of 30 - 180 seconds after the unit is turned on before the breaker will trip).
