Symptom

Def8000 Pasted image is stitched together from “sub-images” using a computer algorithm. The stitched portion (overlap region) is marked by brackets “ [ ” on the side of the pasted image. See long description: One can check if the pasting registration is successful or not by visually looking anatomy in the stitched portions. Pasted images sometimes will be stitched together incorrectly, this is called “misregistration.” Misregistration can occur if: · The patient moved during an image pasting acquisitions. Our optimized pasting registration algorithm can overcome some small patient motion such as breathing. However, in most cases, large patient body motion can cause misregistration. · The patient position is incorrect. For instance, selected anatomy and view do not match the actual patient position. As the registration algorithm is done in a small feature searching boxes that are based on the selected anatomy view. · A patient is not positioned at the detector lateral center. · The collimator lateral FOV is too small, e.g., less than 10cm. In this case, the computer algorithm will not have enough anatomy to correctly stitch together. Misregistration should occur on less than 5 % of pasted images.
