HARDWARE/SOFTWARE CHANGES FOR LIGHTSPEED PRO16 ONLY X-RayTube/ Jedi Generator __ 10 mA to 800 mA possible (100 kW system) __ 10 mA to 670mA possible ( 80 kW system) __ Small focal spot mA o 80 kV 300 o 100 kV 310 o 120 kV 335 140 kV 335 SCAN CONTROL ARCHITECTURE CHANGES __ Table and cradle are always referenced. No need to reference after system reboot __ If Gantry power is off, on start up the e-stop reset MUST be pressed for the gantry hardware to reset. The following sequence should be followed. Turn on A1 power; press reset button on gantry controls, turn on OC console and the system will complete the start up. __ Gantry display Start up sequence different from previous system o Gantry display resets after applications begin to start up - Lights will sequence through the display - Scan hardware is reset when interference display stops flashing - If alignment light is still flashing after applications have completely started then hardware is not up and a scan hardware reset will need to be done __ When tape switches are hit, no reset required. Move table away from obstruction __ Table/cradle may move after motion button is released __ E-Stop removes power from the table. Select reset, will be ~15-20 second delay before table is operational __ A Gantry balance check scan is taken at the beginning of Fast Cal. 0.4 SECOND CARDIAC SCANNING ( LIGHTSPEED PRO16 SYSTEM ONLY) The system has the capability to acquire cardiac scans in 0.4, 0.425, 0.45, 0.475 second rotation times. Reduced view artifacts may be seen in images. These artifacts may affect Calcium scores from Cine Segment scans. PC BASED COMPUTER HARDWARE The operator console now uses a PC based computer system running a Linux based operating system. The system provides a gigabyte network port. GLOBAL RECON ENGINE HARDWARE The reconstruction hardware has been updated to provide faster reconstruction times. Recon times of 6 images/second can be realized. Time to first image of 2- 3seconds as well as faster time to first image for SmartPrep scans. MENU DRIVEN REFORMAT The system now provides a common user interface for reformat with the Advantage Windows in a menu driven format. ADDITIONAL ADVANCED APPLICATIONS ON THE CONSOLE The operator console now has the capability to have additional Advance Applications packages such as Volume Viewer, CT Colon, Advanced Vessel Analysis, SmartScore and CardIQ2 on the operator console. HIPAA The system provides the option to require users to log in and enter a password to use the system. This capability has been added to enable your institution to comply with HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act). Users may be assigned to groups of users and permissions may be set for each user. Permissions may also be set to restrict access to the Protocol Management feature. Your field engineer configures log in capability. Login is selected from the shut down button. AUTO MA Changes have been made to the user interface to simplify the selections available. Reference Noise Index Default or baseline Noise Index for the given protocol. Any changes to Dose Steps, Slice Thickness or Noise index are referenced to this value. This value can only be prescribed while in protocol management Noise Index The noise level required for the study. As the Noise index increases the required mA decreases and image noise increases. Dose Steps Adjusts Noise Index by steps of 5%. Dose steps can be increased or decreased + values decrease image noise thus increasing required mA. Minus values increase Noise index, thus decreasing required mA. A Dose step value of 0 indicates that the prescribed Noise index is equal to the Reference Noise index for the protocol. Reset Resets the Reference Noise Index to the GE Target Noise Index Default for the anatomical area and slice thickness chosen in the protocol ECG MODULATED MA (LIGHTSPEED PRO16 SYSTEMS ONLY) Full mA • ECG Modulation allows the user to vary (modulate) the mA delivered in relation to the phase % of the R-R interval of the patients heart cycle • In a stable heart rate this can lead to clinically relevant dose reduction for the patient by implementing “full mA” for the useful portion of the cardiac cycle where images are to be reconstructed and a reduced mA for the remainder of the cardiac cycle • There are 4 x parameters to set for ECG dose modulation o Start and End phase for full mA o Min and Max mA Setting • Set the start phase for full mA to be delivered in the useful portion of the cardiac cycle for imaging (example 65%) • Set the End Phase for full mA to be delivered in the useful portion of the cardiac cycle for imaging (example 85%) • Set the Min mA to be used outside the above phase range (no less than 20% of full mA is set, 40% of Max mA is the default) • Set the Max mA to be used within the above phase range • There will be ramp up time factored in for the Min mA to alter to Max mA & vice versa by the s/w Once selected and user returns to the View/Edit screen the mA button displays the annotation as follows to indicate modulated mA with the heart cycle of the patient: - - ECG - Max mA - Phase % where maximum mA will be delivered CHANGES TO SHUTDOWN When shutdown is selected, you will be presented with 2 choices Restart or Power down. Restart shuts down then automatically restarts the system. Power down brings the system down to the power off prompt. When shutdown is selected you must cycle power to the operator console to reboot the system. If the HIPAA login feature is enabled you will be presented with 3 choices Logout, Restart or Power down SMARTPREP With faster image-to-image times the minimum Monitor ISD has been decreased to 1 sec. This provides faster monitoring of contrast enhancement. The number of Monitor scans has been increased to 40. REPEAT SERIES Additional functionality to Repeat Series has been added for this release. Repeat Series now allows you to choose any series that has been scanned. When more than 1 series has been scanned a list of all scanned series will be displayed. Click on the series that you wish to repeat. If only one series has been scanned, Repeat Series will not display the Repeat Series menu. LOW SIGNAL CORRECTION Advanced Artifact reduction reconstruction correction has been updated for this release. Reduction in streak artifacts through shoulders and hips should be seen. FILM COMPOSER DEPOSIT TIME The time to deposit an image on the Auto film composer has been reduced to 350ms. This will allow Auto film to take advantage of faster reconstruction times. AUTO TRANSFER Auto transfer by iamge has been updated to transfer in larger groups of images. This provides more efficient use of system resources while Auto Transfering by image. Auto transfer by image will transfer the first 50 images in 2 groups of 25, after that images will be transferred in groups of 50. ANONYMOUS SCAN DATA SAVE The system now provides the ability to save scan data with patient identifying information removed. This has been added to address HIPAA concerns. Raw data saved anonymously and then restored will reconstruct with patient identifying information removed. The Patient Name and ID will be anonymized. Select Recon Management Select Save Scan Data A new choice for Save Selected Annon Data is available. IMAGE ANNOTATION Accession Number- Image annotation field Req. No.: has been replaced with annotation that mor appropriately identifies it as the field for the accession number entered on the New Patient Screen. The annotation on the image is Acc No.: CUSTOM ANNOTATION Custom Annotation-has added an additional group for Accession Number. Selectin group 17 will allow the user to enable or disable display of the Accession Number field on the screen or on film.
