If the fans were installed incorrectly (upside down) they push the air upwards instead of downwards and create a heat problem inside the IPS and dust on the fans. The heat thus created may cause the Power Supply Board to fail. Service Note 43435 IPS Cooling Fans Assembly Verification - Updates and Corrections Background It has been reported that in some of the systems, the fans on the bottom of IPS were installed incorrectly. The correct position for the fan pulls the air flow from the openings in the top cover of the IPS and causes the air to flow downwards and exit through the fans at the bottom of the IPS. If the fans were installed incorrectly (upside down) they push the air upwards instead of downwards and create a heat problem inside the IPS and dust on the fans. The heat thus created may cause the Power Supply Board to fail. No Updates
