Will not Scan with Gradient Distortion Faults 2244845 Due to Open Gradient Coil in BRM.

Symptom

System Will Not Scan With Gradient Amplifier Current Distortion Faults.

Error message

2244845 The GP reported mutliple Gradient Amplifier %Axis Current Distortion Faults. See Long Description Note: "mutliple" is a typo in the original error message in software. Error: 2244845 Host: MNSHGEMRRAD Process: NSP File: SCP:Grad Line: 2865 The GP reported mutliple Gradient Amplifier % Axis Current Distortion Faults. Extended Error: This is a generic fault message indicating that the Gradient Amplifiers are not accurately following the current command from the IPG/SRF. If other faults occurred concurrently, they will provide useful information to assist with troubleshooting. Else, swap the control cable between the GP and the failing Gradient Amplifier with the Gradient Amplifier on another axis (swap one end of the cable only). If the fault moves, replace the Gradient Amplifier or Gradient Amplifier Control Board (board can be swapped with another axis to isolate), or check the gradient coil. If the fault does not move, replace the GP

See comments in resolution concept for second opinion requirements before ordering this part SMILe 2/7/2006 Subject: Failed and unused BRM coils must be returned promptly for evaluation and repair. Effectivity: All Signa 1.5T Horizon, LX, EXCITE and HD MR systems. Problem: Unused BRM's are remaining on site too long which severely limits the availability of FRU BRM coils. The repair facility is able to perform quick evaluations/repair of coils but BRM's must be returned promptly. Resolution: BRM coils should be ordered with no more than a 3-day lead time . Every effort is being made to always have FRU BRM's available but your help is needed. Within 10 days of shipment of the FRU BRM either it or the failed unit must be returned. Any exceptions to this time limit must be cleared through Ramamohan Pai, Global Modality Leader-MR & XR. Email : [email protected] Tel: 1-262-544-3240, Dial Com : 320-3240
