How to Remotely Perform DICOM Ping and Test DICOM Transfer?
Symptom
How to Remotely Perform DICOM Ping and Test DICOM Transfer? See Long Description The OnLine engineer, FE or ZSE, would like to be able to remotely run a DICOM ping test from this scanner to check whether a certain remote host can be reached from this scanner. The remote host pings fine using a standard ping command but this tells us nothing about whether a DICOM association will work or not. To test this we need remote access to a DICOM ping test. How can this be done?
Error message
Remote Host XXXXXX is Down Retry after next retry_interval Error message from /export/home/sdc/logfiles/dcslog (the DICOM Server log): Thu Apr 10 08:02:45 2008 31357 dcspush.c:178 Remote Host GEPACS is Down - Retry after next retry_interval Thu Apr 10 08:05:55 2008 3938 dcspush.c:178 Remote Host GEPACS is Down - Retry after next retry_interval ... etc Note that "GEPACS" will vary depending on PACS remote hostname, and the first number after the date/time stamp is NOT an error code, rather is a PID process number, which will change every time.
