The SHeM and it's FRUs are no longer being stocked.
Symptom
It is no longer possible to Ghost the Advantech or Granite magnet monitor SHeM hard drive, since the introduction of laptops with Windows 2000. MR SMILe dated April 5, 2004, Titled "Magnet Monitor Hard Drive." Effectivity: All sites with either Advantech or Granite Magnet Monitor (SHEM). Hard Drive is no longer in stock and will not be re-stocked by MR Engineering. Only Alternative as of July, 2006 is to replace the SHeM. Ordering either part number 2209000 or 2219400 WILL change up to a MagMon3, part number 2394952. This information is Property of GE - For GE Service Personnel Only. Disclosure to Third Parties Prohibited. Effectivity: All sites with either Advantech or Grainte Magnet Monitor (SHEM). Issue: It is no longer possible to "Ghost" the magnet monitor hard drive, since the introduction of laptops with Windows 2000. Resolution: The magnet monitor hard drive is now a FRU. It can be ordered to replace an existing hard drive. See procedure below on how to replace the magnet monitor hard drive. The replacement drive will work for both Grainte and Advantech magnet monitors. The part number is 5111978 . Procedure for replacement is below.
