Release the gantry rotation brake to turn the rotation section by hand (emergency)
Use this when the Activion16 gantry rotation section must be turned by hand — for service work, or when the X-ray tube is not at its normal stop position and the powered recall (via the operating panel) is not available. There are two ways to reposition the rotation section: a powered recall to the home position (normal use, needs the console active) and a manual brake release (service/emergency u

Safety
Hazard: Attempting to turn the gantry rotation section by hand while the servo amplifier breaker CP320 is still ON
Consequence: (derived - not in source) The rotation motor still has power and can fight or drive the manual turning, risking injury or drive/brake damage
Avoidance: Always set CP320 to OFF (Step 2) before releasing the brake at SW326 — the source states Step (2) is mandatory to ensure safety
Hazard: Rotor-side electronics (HFG, DAS, etc.) left powered while the rotation section is opened up for manual turning
Consequence: (derived - not in source) Unnecessary exposure to live rotor electronics during service work
Avoidance: If power to the inside of the rotor is not needed for the task, also set breaker NFB2 (rear lower right of the gantry) to OFF (source: 'be sure to set breaker NFB2 ... to OFF')
Hazard: Turning the gantry rotation section by hand without first releasing the brake at SW326
Consequence: Brake malfunction / damage to the brake mechanism
Avoidance: Always complete the brake release procedure (CP1 ON, CP320 OFF, SW326 up) before turning the rotation section manually
