Remove and refit the gantry dome cover
Remove the dome cover to reach the slip ring and brush section behind it — for example to troubleshoot slip-ring noise/discharge, clean the ring, or replace worn brushes (see Related) — then refit it. The dome cover sits behind the rear covers in the gantry's cover stack, so removing the rear covers (§1.3.4) is a prerequisite step here, not something this task repeats.
